Charlotte

I've now had two fun experiences in Charlotte!

Wig Shopping 2000

Last year I was in Charlotte for a couple of days and decided to revisit the wig store I found the last time (see below.) I got dressed in the hotel room and headed out in my rental car for the shop. On the left: me in the hotel room. Right: me in the wig place trying on one of the wigs.

I had another great experience at the wig shop and decided to buy a very attractive red toned wig. Very Nice!

I felt very confident walking back into the hotel. I felt that I looked great. When I got to my room the electronic key would not work! Crossdresser nightmare!! There was no way around it - I had to go to the front desk and get some help. The woman at the desk was very nice and I don't think the guy working on the electronic lock had a clue I wasn't a woman. I did get a funny expression from the chambermaid who had given me an extra towel when I was in "guy" mode. She just said "is this YOUR room?" with a puzzled look on her face!

New Wig & Dancing in 1999

During my 1999 trip to Charlotte I found that wig store and ended up buying two wigs! Donna was so nice and helpful. I was very nervous but their private wig sampling area was great.

I had to show off my new wig that night so I went out dancing by myself. When I couldn't get into Scorpios because I wasn't a "member," I tried 300 Stonewall - a gay bar with a great, constant dance beat.

After watching the crowd for a while, I saw a couple of really cute women just hanging out near the dance floor like me. I asked one of them if she wanted to dance and she said "no thanks." That's when I said "I bet you haven't been asked by a guy in a dress before!" She said "You're a guy? OK, I'll dance!"

Wow! I was in heaven! I "passed" and I now had someone to dance with! The three of us danced and acted like girlfriends the rest of the night. They even took pictures of us in the girls room! I have their permission to use the pictures below - but it's been a long time so I thought it would be best to block out their eyes.
