Directions: Study the following terms in preparation for a test. 1. Outline--document used to organize information in a hierarchical structure; can be created using the outline view; outlines have 9 levels; outline view contains an outlining toolbar 2. Promote and demote button--buttons in an outline that will take you to the previous or next level; you may look at many or just a few levels of headings 3. Outline numbered list--feature that allows you to use numbers or leters in an outline 4. Comments--hidden notes that can be added to a document; appear on the screen in a balloon; can be printed or not 5. Agenda--plan or list of things to be done, events to occur, or matters to bring before a committee, council, or board 6. Table--feature that organizes information into columns and rows 7. Minutes--summary points of a meeting 8. Tabs--stopping points for the insertion point when the tab key is pressed 9. Itinerary--day-by-day travel timetable 10. Leaders--a series of dots, dashes, or solid lines set with a tab 11. Rows--in a table, these run horizontally 12. Columns--in a table, these run vertically 13. Decimal tab--this type tab moves text before the decimal point to the left of the tab 14. Left tab--this tab moves text to the right of the tab 15. Right tab--this tab moves text to the left of the tab 16. Center tab--this tab moves text to the center of the tab stop 17. Custom--tab settings that you select 18. Cell--where a row and column intersect 19. Alt+tab--way to move the insertion point within the cell 20. Tab--way to move from cell to cell |
