Directions: Study the following terms in preparation for a test. 1. Drawing toolbar--feature that includes buttons to create shapes, add fill and effects, access WordArt, add shadows, and apply 3-D effects. 2. Nudge--used to move objects in small increments 3. WordArt--used to modify text to create a variety of shapes 4. Metafiles--graphic files that allow images to be ungrouped and edited in Word 5. HSL--stands for hue, saturation, and luminosity 6. Fill--shading added to drawing objects 7. Pixel--short for picture element where each individual dot or square of color is in a picture 8. Twain--a cross-platform interface for acquiring electronic images captured by scanners and digital cameras 9. Announcement--promotional document used to inform an audience of an up-coming event 10. Crop--to trim horizonal and vertical edges off a picture 11. Logo--a unique design made of letters, words, shapes, or graphics as an emblem for an organization 12. Ungroup--used to select individual components from a whole unit 13. Gradient--a gradual varying of color 14. Scale--to increase of decrease the size of an image proportionally or disproportionally 15. Bitmaps--pictures made up of small squares that form shapes and lines 16. RGB--stands for red, green, and blue 17. Raster images--images made up of black, white or another color 18. WIA--stands for Windows Image Acquisition 19. Thumbnail--a rough sketch used in planning layout and design 20. Flyer--promotional document used to advertise a product or service |
