Some have gone thru a significant graphical upgrade(allowing for a few new variations. See Below), while some have had only minor reworkings. Nevertheless, the concepts behind the wallpapers themselves remain intact. |

The changes I made to this updated version were in terms of a fairly apparent graphical improvement of the morphing flower, as I felt the original version did not look as good as I once thought it was. So I redid it from scratch, and while very similar to the original, I'm much happier with this rendition. |

This series of fan wallpapers is available at Deviantart.com here. These particular wallpapers use John "The Wingless" Burnett's VGDJ logo design in various iterations. And as such credit must be given where credit is due.

Now these sets of wallpapers are really where the significant graphical improvements occurred. The original versions utilized a modified version of the mushroom logo design for VGDJ as concocted by John "The Wingless" Burnett, a former Judge's panel member of OverClocked Remix and current employee of Midway Games.
While he did courtiously send me a high resolution .jpg of the logo design for me to use in making these fan wallpapers, I felt for the revamped versions that I needed a little more flexibilitiy in the area of color manipulation. As one may or may not know, trying to do that with a flat image can result in harsh egdes most of the time (and I did pretty damn well considering that fact).
My only solution was to either acquire the actual multilayer photoshop file from John (which I didn't want to do cuz I try not to bother people too much) or create my own from scratch and try to match it with the original. I feel my recreated version of the Vgdj Mushroom is at least 95% accurate, with the last 5% dealing with mostly slight indiscrepancies in proportions. One new variation is now included in the pack, which basically is how John colored the logo originally(the blue mushroom), but using the recreation I did.
As a result, these renditions are of a much higher quality then the original ones I made ever were.
