STREUSEL COFFEE CAKE

1/2 cup shortening
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
4 tsp. bkg. pwd.
1 tsp. salt

Topping:
4 Tbsp. soft butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
4 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon (opt)

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add the eggs, milk and vanilla.
Add flour, bkg. pwd. and salt.
Spread onto either a greased
9 x 13-inch or 10 x 15-inch pan.
Next make the Topping. Crumble
the butter with the sugar, flour
and (opt) cinnamon. Sprinkle on
top of batter. Bake in a 350 degree
oven for 30-40 minutes. When cool
drizzle a powdered sugar glaze over
the top. (1 cup pwd. sugar with
1-2 Tbsp. milk mixed in).
