APPLE DANISH

Crust:
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup veg. shortening
1 beaten egg

Filling:
6 cups sliced apples
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup butter or margarine

Mix flour and salt for crust.Cut
in shortening. Combine the milk
and egg. Add to the flour mixture.
Divide the dough in half. Roll out
into 11 x 16 inch jelly roll pan
(rolling between wax paper works well).
Mix the Filling ingredients together
and pour over the crust. Roll out the
remaining crust and lay on top of apple
filling. Brush top crust with slightly
beaten egg white. Bake at 375 degrees
for 45 minutes. While warm spread on
powdered sugar glaze

Glaze
1-1/2 cups pwd. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. milk
