Fudge

3/4 cups (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
3 cups sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 (12 oz) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (7 oz) jar marshmallow creme
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix margarine, sugar and milk in heavy 3 qt.
saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil on
medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue
boiling on medium heat for 5 min., stirring
constantly to prevent scorching. Remove from
heat and stir in the chocolate chips. Add
remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Pour into 9"x13" (lightly buttered) baking
pan and spread out. Cool at room temperature.
Cut into squares.
