CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES4> (Toll House Recipe - Doubled) 2 cups shortening 1-1/2 cup brown sugar 1-1/2 cup sugar 4 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. water 2 tsp. soda 2 tsp. salt 4-1/2 flour (2) 12 oz. bags of semi-sweet choc. chips 2 cups chopped walnuts (optional) Blend shortening and both sugars. Beat in eggs, vanilla and water. Add soda, salt and flour. Stir till mixed well. Add 2 bags of chocolate chips and walnuts (opt). Mix thoroughly. Drop teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. * My best results are to take cookies from the oven when the tops are lightly browned. They tend to brown up more after removing from oven. * If baking 2 sheets in the oven at a time, rotate them half-way through baking. Top tray to bottom, and back side of tray turned around to be in front. |
