Robert E Harris, Sr (Bobby) who departed this life March 6, 1987. So suddenly you left us dear brother. Our hearts are so heavy with grief. We miss you so. But God needed another Angel and called you home where there will be no more pain or suffering. The days are long without you. But one thing we are sure of is that, one day we will se you again, up there with Mom and Dad and all our loved ones who have gone on before. Just 10 days after you left us, the Angel returned to take my darling sister Josie Harris Kennedy on March 16, 1987. I can imagine how happy you both were to be together again. "Fred W Crowe, 78, of Wylam died Thursday. He retired from U.S. Steel Structural Mill after 30 years of service. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove. The funeral will be at 3:00 pm Saturday at Angwin Ensley, with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Notes for MARION LEWIS CROW:

Lewis had very black hair as a young man and the older he became the curlier his hair became. He was very friendly. He was also very easy to get along with. He minded his own business.

Lewis Crow was somewhat careless in his work habits. He hurt his leg while hauling corn with a wagon and a mule. The wheel on the wagon became lodged between rocks. The wheel on the wagon became lodged between rocks. When he got down from the wagon and took the single tree, the mule lunged forward and the single tree hit his leg. This is the first injury to his leg.

His next episode or accident occurred at Swindle mines in Marion County on the New River. This happened in 1944 or '45; he was riding a rock car to the top of the temple when he was tripped or thrown from the car. By an act of God, he hit on the track. If he had have missed the track, he would have taken a trip of about 50 feet to the bottom of the temple.

Sina was a very faithful member of Lynn Baptist Church. She and Carley were very friendly people. They lived in the house her father had built and finished in the year 1900 at Lynn, Alabama for many years. They lived their last years with their son, Chester Cooksey in Jasper, Alabama.

This information obtained from Lynn Cemetery, Carley Cooksey, and Estelle Crow Byram.

Sina had been in a nursing home for a few years before her death. Her husband, Carley Cooksey, died four weeks and four days after his wife. Sina was buried on one of the coldest days I have ever seen in my life. The temperature was down in the teens or lower. I was asked by the family to be a pallbearere for both Carley and Sina, which I considered to be an honor.

Great Aunt Sina Crowe Cooksey was buried at Lynn Cemetery. Her funeral service was held at Lynn Church. Bob Causey and Brother Yarber from Northside Baptist Church of Jasper performed the service.

Great Uncle Carley Cooksey's funeral services were held at Collins Funeral Home by Brother Yarber at their chapel and a very brief service at the cemetery in Lynn.

Much of the information I have been able to record came from this lovely couple who were married seventy-two years.
