Our Trip to the Empire State Building

On Sunday, August 27, we decided to be industrious and woke up very early to go into the city. After Pascal had about 20 cups of coffee (which I did eventually learn to make strong enough) we went to the Empire State Building. It was another foggy hazy day, like all days lately here in New York. It was too hot and not enough wind, and since the two of us were becoming so lazy anyways, we decided to take it easy. The Empire State Building is a straight subway ride with no transfers, so we hardly had to walk anywhere.

Before going up to the observatory we went on a virtual tour of NYC called the Skyride. It was a lazy tourist's dream come true... we just sat there and let Scotty from Star Trek lead us on a crazy tour of the major attractions in NY. After that we went up to the top but unfortunately it was too hazy for the pictures to really show much of the city.

When we were finished looking out over the city, we went into the center where there is a huge souvenier shop and well we took this dorky picture. A brief explanation of why we look this way: The photographer takes two pictures of which u choose the one you like best. Pascal has trouble smiling on demand, and well, with me you have two choices... either I smile or you can see my eyes. Anyways for this particular shot, the photographer told us to look scared... but I was laughing so hard from Pascal not smiling in the other pics that I just couldn't do it. So the net result here is that I do not look scared, but hey you can kind of see my eyes, and Pascal looks like that in most pictures anyways LOL :)

Even though we took lunch with us, I kind of had the feeling that Pascal wanted a little more than tuna sandwiches for lunch and really there was nowhere to sit, so after we left the empire state building and said goodbye to King Kong, we went to sit down in this little Italian restaurant. Does it make any sense that he ordered rice? I mean wouldn't pasta be a more normal choice? LOL honey you are so cute :)

Well here is a pic of me sitting in the restaurant too. My nose and chin got sunburned... or was it stubbleburned cuz someone was too lazy to shave and kept kissing me? LOL
