~ Summer Classes ~
Grades in Angel may not
reflect grades submitted! Borderline grades may have improved due to attendance,
extra credit opportunities taken etc. Wait until Monday to check grades in
KCConnect!
I use a straight scale:
450 & Up = A
This grade level requires a student to demonstrate achievement which is of
OUTSTANDING quality relative to the level necessary
to meet course required outcomes.
400 - 449 = B
This grade level requires a student to demonstrate achievement which is of HIGH quality relative to the level necessary to meet course required outcomes.
350 - 349 = C
This grade level requires a student to demonstrate achievement which is of SATISFACTORY quality, meaning one has just meet course required outcomes.
300 - 349 = D
This grade level requires a student to demonstrate achievement which is BELOW SATISFACTORY quality, meaning one has NOT met the minimum course required outcomes.
Below 300 = F
This grade level requires a student to FAIL to demonstrate achievement of the minimum course required outcomes due to either failure 1) work not completed; or 2) work at a level of achievement not worthy of credit.
Please...DO
NOT email me or leave a voicemail asking about a grade on a specific asgn
or paper before you have pick it up or downloaded it & read the explanation
comments as to why you received the grade. I do not have them on me &
I can't remember every comment on every student's paper. All graded work can
be found either where you submitted it in Angel, emailed back to you or in
L355. My secretary stated you may pick up your hard copy submission in the
office NEXT week if you like. Please make note of when campus is open off
the KCC website!
If you find you have a submission which I have been graded but the grade is
NOT in Angel or perhaps I have added incorrectly or something simple like
this, it is not a problem! "Hakuna
Matata" :-) Please simply bring the hard copy to L355 with a note
& leave it for me in the black file cabinet. I will be happy to take care
of this & email you when you can pick it back up. Easy solution should
this type of error occur. Remember your professors are human! It is not that
we are careless but rather make mistakes just like you do.
If after you read my comments on your work and it is added up correctly &
entered correctly but you would like to discuss it with me, I would be HAPPY
to do so if you could simply email me some times you would be available BEGINNING
Aug. 20th when I return to campus. I will try to have my schedule posted during
in-service week for the following week so you can take a look what might work
for you. My current fall class schedule is posted on my personal Main
webpageand the Class
Webpage. If you believe I never received something via email initially,
you will have to also arrange an apt to meet with me & we will have to
pull up your email together & look at your original submittal. Again,
schedule this with me the week of Aug 20th.
Angel will be available
until (will post when they let me know!). I do not have a time so I suggest you make copies
of anything you want IMMEDIATELY, for example your grades.
I will not be checking email on a regular basis while on vacation as I will
not always have internet access. I will however respond ASAP when we return
if I do not get back to you sooner.
Keep all your work until you grade reflects the points you earned. KCC's policy
is for faculty to keep your work for up to 1 year. Anything I still have at
this point will be shredded.
Have a lovely break! Have fun, relax & re-energize for a wonderful
Fall Term! Those of you off to Universities, I wish you the best, please keep in touch & let me know how you are doing from time to time.
Remember life is a path of constant improvement. Take those things that did
not go well for you fall term & use them to improve upon the spring term!
It was a pleasure meeting all of you and walking down the path with you to
learn about psychology. If you want to keep getting emails from me on guest
speakers etc please email me the email you prefer me to use.
My very best wishes to all of you as you continue your education. Don't forget
when you transfer to Universities to check out the psychology department schedules
even if you are not majoring or minoring in it. Many times you may just need
some hours for your total to graduate & you will find wonderful individual
topic courses sometimes for just 1 or 2 hours even - like the Psych &
WWII courses I took last summer.
If you need any assistance about psychology in the future, please feel free
to contact me. Remember to use your psychology information from this course
in your future courses...great to extend on topics for a speech or paper etc!
