Nicky is my seven year old.
He is in first grade.
He was born on March 2, 1994 after just four and a half hours of very easy labor. Sorry gals, it just wasn't that bad, and no I didn't have an epidural there was no time!
The real labor came after his birth. I knew shortly after his birth that he was a very special child with special needs. Nicky was extremely hyperactive, even as an infant. When he was two and a half he was not yet talking and was diagnosed with aphasia (a speech and language disorder). When he was 3 we enrolled him into the public preschool system, because of his speech and then, behavior disorder (we suspect he is ADHD). He love's to learn new things, and does very well in school. He has had his own computer since he was three, and it has helped him a lot with his speech disorder. Just this year he was accepted into the gifted program. He was originally thought to be educably mentally handicapped by the school board. He is a real miracle child. It just goes to show how important early learning really is.
Nicky's interests are immense. He likes the Power Rangers (Mom doesn't) Spider Man, Pokemon and Digimon. He has quite a collection of all the above. Nicky has more toys than any other little boy I know (he's spoiled), He enjoys building things with his large collection of legos,and playing learning CD's on his computer.
