Speaker
- The
person supposedly uttering the poem.
Voice
- The
speaker of the poem. The reader
should not assume that the speaker is the poet.
- The
characteristic sound, style, or tone of a particular poet.
Audience
- Those
who read the poems of a given poet.
- Those
for whom a poet may write.
Tone
- The
emotional spin a poet puts on his words; the edge of attitude in the voice
of a poem.
- In a
poem, tone is the coloration of the words, their shading, warmth or
coolness (as in painting).
- It is
also how they sound, their pitch (high or low), their harmony (sweet of
shrill), their volume (loud or soft), (as in music).etc.
