Well, It was my weekly check-up with my Dr. and I was anticipating some news, that we would have our baby soon. I wasn't feeling any major false contractions, like I had with my second child, however I was feeling like it was going to be soon. He wasn't due to arrive until the 28th of March, and it was only the 22nd ,however I just felt like stuff was happening. So at the Dr. he gave me an internal to check the condition of my cervix,and discovered I was 2-3 cm dialated , but also my cervix was extremely soft. So, I look at him, and he says " if nothing happens tonite, go into the hospital first thing in the morning, and we'll see how you progress." He thought I was really going to go on my own that nite, but nothing happened. So we were excited, to know he might induce me the next day, so hubby cancelled his shift at work, and got a sitter,and headed down to the hospital. I was dialating on my own, but not at a fast enough pace, so they admitted me into a labor room, and Dr. was going to break my water bag. This was around 11 am. I wasn't even really feeling any contractions, so I thought this wasn't going tohappen at all today. BUT after hours of waiting for the Dr. he finally broke my water at 4 pm, and started me on an IV with pitocen. The contractions SHOWED UP! I was having a hard time with them, and Hubby and Friend had gone to grab a bite to eat.....great timing!
Well I was ready to push at around 6pm, and Dr. was called and arrived after I had already started pushing, he had little time to put on his gear, when the babies head was emerging. I didn't even know that I had pushed the babies head out. My hubby told me "not long now Debbie, he is almost here!" Then the Dr. told me to pant and then push, then pant......then our baby came out and greeted us with a bit of whining. I had him on my tummy, and I wiped off his head and hubby cut the cord. It was just amazing, I cried because I was so glad it was over. And We now have him to love and to hold and to kiss!!
He was born at 6:23 pm Friday,March 23rd.,
Weighed 8 pounds 9 ozs and was 20.5 inches long! A full head of hair and big grey blue eyes!
