Biography
Martin West is one of the busiest conductors of his generation.

Since 1997 he has worked with English National Ballet and was appointed Principal Conductor in 2004. He has travelled with them on major tours across the world and has been singled out many times by the critics for his performances. Alongside his work with English National Ballet, Martin West is in his seventh season as Music Director of Cambridge Philharmonic Society, one of England's oldest and highest achieving amateur music societies. SF Ballet Finds A New Stickman The San Francisco Ballet has tapped frequent guest conductor Martin West to be its new music director, replacing Andrew Mogrelia, who stepped down after only two years in the post. West "is the former principal conductor of the English National Ballet and has served as music director of the Cambridge Philharmonic Society. He has also conducted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Halle Orchestra, the London Concert Orchestra and the BBC Concert Orchestra."
