| This month I received a different sort of gift. I unwrapped the packaging paper, released the bow that tied the cardboard portfolio and found Anna Oliver's costume renderings. I spread them out across my desk, marveling at their beauty: the strong vertical line of a woman's back, the costume's elegance mysteriously conveyed with just pencil strokes, the visual textures of fabric.
