| January 24th - I find that sometimes I'm talking to the baby here and other times I'm not. This week, week 19, I have felt increased movement. A couple of nights ago the baby was really poking at me while I sat on the floor playing with Lucas. It kept making me laugh. Then last night s/he was rolling around a lot in there while I was trying to go to sleep. Hmmmm, might not be such a laid back baby after all! I'm so excited, the ultrasound is only 5 days away! January 30 - IT'S A GIRL!!!!! On January 28th we found out we're having a girl. Never in a million years did I expect it. I have to say that I'm quite excited. It's going to be so different than it was with Lucas. Not better, just different. Lucas is gradually adjusting to the fact that he's having a sister and not a brother. And the proud father is doing well also. He's going to have "Daddy's Little Girl". He's already said she's not dating until she's 20. Poor thing. At least she's got me as a mother! :) February 11 - The baby is getting stronger. I'm able to feel some of her kicks from the outside now. Dad finally felt her kick for the first time the other week. I have to say it's been fun. To me, this is the best part of pregnancy. We have our checkup tomorrow evening. I'm looking forward to that too. Soon we will go pick out bedding and the colors for the glider. Papa has started working on the nursery. He's got the ceiling painted blue in preparation for the clouds and I believe we've found our wall color. I had bought this lavendar color for our powder room but it turned out to be too pink for what I wanted. Well, we slapped some on the wall in the baby's room to see how it would look and it's perfect!! It's actually not too pink for a baby's room. It's nice and soft. I also bought a stuffed, white bear and a lavender sweater for it to wear that says Princess across the front. I bought it because certain family members have referred to her as a princess. :) Anyway, the bear's sweater matches the walls very well. Dad also bought the baby a dollhouse. He always said if he ever had a daughter he'd build her a dollhouse. We picked one out yesterday. We're both very excited about it. And that's where we are. 22 weeks along, I'm feeling good and we're all very excited. February 21 - Decoration of the nursery has begun and the clouds on the ceiling are finished. I'm finding that its difficult for me to commit to anything as far as the decor goes. With such eclectic taste I change my mind almost daily. I'm sure that in the end it will be georgeous. March 12 - We had our March appointment. All is well. I am measuring at 27 weeks instead of 26 (don't get too big baby!!) and the baby's heartbeat was loud, strong and fast. We were all impressed. :) The nursery is coming along. All that's really left as far as painting goes is the stenciling and dad is making some good headway with that. He's also working on the dollhouse and a log cabin for Lucas. Before we know it the baby will be here, time really is flying! I'm getting rounder by the day. LOL! I can really feel the baby now. She kicks me up in my ribs and it even feels like she's kicking me in my leg at times. I'm still amazed that there is enough room in there. |
