By this point in the project, Scott and Nikki have had to do some improvising.  These panels for the roof didn't want to stand up straight on their own while the glue dried so Scott rigged something up to keep them in place.
Here we have the roof temporarily in place and the floor to the porch is in.  You will also see a doorway on the 2nd floor.  This door leads out onto a balcony.  Scott and Nikki decided that instead of using the regular door that came with the kit, they would use the french door we had purchased for elsewhere in the house, as the door for the balcony.  That has been a great thing about building this house, we've been able to get creative and tweak things to our liking.
In this picture you can get a view of most of the rooms in the house.  This is where I started putting my two cents worth in.  We had some issues to deal with and discovered that we needed to make some modifications.  The kitchen was really small so Nikki came up with the idea of moving the wall far enough over to include the front window in the kitchen, thus making the foyer smaller.  We felt a larger kitchen was more important than a large foyer.  This also will allow for a small table in the kitchen.  Way to go Nikki!  We also expanded
the bathroom upstairs to allow enough room. This is why we bought the furniture for those two rooms, so we could decide on what size to make them since they were an odd shape.  The house didn't come with stairs leading to the attic space and since we're probably putting the children's bedroom up there we decided to put in some stairs.  We haven't actually done it yet, but it is on the list.  Something else Scott is doing is putting in interior doors.  The plans don't call for them, they just have plain openings in the walls for the doorways.  Scott thought it would be nicer to dress it up a bit.
