I was born and raised in Bhubaneswar,Orissa,India. I did my MS in Chemistry at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack in 1992 . Then I went on to work in Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar as a junior research fellow under a project entitled "Studies on Alum sludge and development of process for it's utilization". In 1996 I came to Northern Illinois University, Dekalb and obtained a PhD degree in analytical chemsitry in 2001. My dissertation topic was entitledmembrane desolvator for HPLC - Microwave induced plasma spectroscopy. Currently I am working for Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. at Long Island, NY as a Research Scientist.

Hobbies and interests:

I am a sports enthusiast. I play badminton and cricket. I was introduced to sky diving by my cousin Chaiya and her husband Javier in Jan 1997 at Perris Valley, CA. It's a exhilarating experience. I recommend everybody to give it try if they get a chance to do it. I would like to do it again the next opportunity I get.

My family:

My dad, Hrusikesh Das Berma, is a medical doctor. He is serving at Kalinga hospital at Bhubaneswar. My mom, Ranjita Das, is a home maker, she takes care of the home department and my younger brother,Debjit Das is a Computer scientist working at ESS,Bhubaneswar.
