| Tampa Electric Company - Big Bend Station, Engineer II, 1978-1980. Engineering and maintenance responsibility for three 350 MW subcritical steam turbines, turbine auxiliaries and three combustion turbines. Worked with maintenance planners to develop the company�s first computerized maintenance planning system - a predecessor to CMMS. Supervised cooperative education students quarterly. Provided engineering support for a compressed air capacity/reliability upgrade, feedwater heater replacements, lifting device design and construction, and retubing of a main unit condenser. Engineering and maintenance responsibility for six oil-fired boilers and five steam turbines totaling 250 MW. Provided engineering support for the installation of waste water storage tanks, unit demineralizers, replacement feedwater heaters and retubing of two condensers. Supervised cooperative students quarterly Converted numerous steam traps to continuous drain orifices, resulting in thousands of dollars in annual energy savings. Designed and supervised construction of an automated �car wash� for employee vehicles. Tampa Electric Company - Production Department, Engineer I, 1975-1976. Became liaison for the company turbine specialist. Developed skills in rotating equipment vibration analysis and balancing. Was allowed to calculate and install balance weights for dynamic vibration correction of a boiler feed pump turbine, which was corrected on the first weight installation.
