"It  Is Not Enough To Be,You Also Need To Do"- DeathWish.
THE LESSON  PLAN:
The Basics :Hair,Face  and Make-Up Tips.
It usually  helps to have long hair, but this is by no means a pre-requisite. Remember, short  hair can be spooky too! There is no wrong way to make hair look spooky, just  ensure it does. For best results, dye hair black, maybe shave some areas. One of  the standard rules to follow-the darker the better.
Wear all black  clothing.
Your face and  skin need to be pale, ghostly and really creepy. You can use black eyeliner to  accentuate your facial features, this adds an eerie effect to your already pale  complexion.
Expression  and Attitude.
It is very  important to appear anguished and filled with despair. Try to get a look of deep  angst happening. The weight of the world is on us, and we must make our audience  believe that we do indeed carry the burden of life upon us.
Important - NEVER  smile.
To smile is to break the cardinal rule of anguish.
You must look  like you feel alone. Utterly alone.
Goth  Mannerisms.
The  importance of looking good in subdued light cannot be stressed enough.
If  you haven't noticed by now - Goths prefer darkness. It is the core element for  Goths.
Be the darkness. Can you see how much sense the all black ensembles  make now??
Go Out And  Be Anti Social.
Enough  said.
Gothic and  Spooky Self Assessment.
Here are the  questions to continually ask yourself:
Do I feel  spooky?
Would I frighten friends and family?
Do I look like The  Crow?
Do I look like a Raven?
Could I dress like this for  Halloween?

If you can answer "yes" to these,YOU ARE GOTH.It's that  easy!!!
GOTHIC  HOBBIES:
You will need  to become an outcast from society to truly become goth, and this can be a little  boring. Therefore, here is a list of the more suitable gothic  past-times.
Hobby  #1.
Drawing is a  sign of creativity, and as goths are generally creative, you must become an  artist.Only draw dark and spooky things, like bats, spiders, anarchy symbols.  Writing words such as "spooky" in cool lettering is also acceptable.
Hobby  #2.
Poetry.
Alas, how misunderstood I am!
Remember that all true  artists and poets were greatly misunderstood.
Much like we gothy people. That  is why we are outcasts!
Hobby #3.
Collecting  odd and unusual things, such as dead rats, sharp pointy objects, hat pin  thingummies etc.
Hobby  #4.
Collecting  the litery works of such masters as Shelley,Poe,Byron etc.
Goths pride  themselves on being very well read.
An important tip-buy your books from  antique stores. That way you will have the "gothic" leather bound versions and  not some cheap and nasty copy from the bookstore featuring the latest movie  adaption on the cover-very un-goth!!
Hobby  #5.
Criticising  others that look remotely gothic can now become a favourite past-time.A list of  things to look for and criticise could include:
1.  Clothing. Is it black enough?Do their blacks match?
2. Shoes. Are the soles  thick enough? How pointy are they?
3. Hair. Is it big enough? Can you count  more than 2 colours?
4. Accessories. How many bangle bracelets do they  have? How nice is their coffin purse? Is their choker vinyl or  leather?Response:run up,hit them on the head with your tin lunchbox and grab  what you can!
Helpful Hint:  get yourself prescribed some anti-depressants.How better to prove you are filled  with gothic angst
