The Darwin Awards:
In March 2002 in Bangladesh, a gang of highway robbers was operating, parking thier cars across the road and forcing oncoming cars to stop and then stealing them. This backfired when a 40-ton lorry was unable to stop because of the weight of the cargo he was carrying - cows. The lorry flattened the road block, killing the five carjackers and an errant cow.
In May 2002 in Pakistan, a criminal was accused of owning a hand grenade.

His defence was that it was only a replica, and in an attempt to prove that it was real, the judge pulled out the pin, killing himself.
In July 2002 in the Ukraine, a man with a huge dog started threatening a law enforcement officer, after refusing tho put his dog on a leash.
The got so angry that he threw a hand grenade at the officer, but killed himself instead when the dog brought it back to him.
In July 2002 in Romania, a businessman put his head to a railway track in front of a train to see if the old Red-Indian trick would be able to detect the train travelling towards him at 110 mph.
In October 2002 in Oxford, a member of the Human Catapult Assosciation was killed when they fired themselves from a 50-foot Trebuchet to a place where the safety net wasn't.
