| Not feeling her kiss back, he sighed and started walking out of the alley. He needed to feed, he kept his eye open for food. She followed him out of the alley, closely. For whatever reasons, she wanted to stay as close to him as possible. He looked back at her every so often, he wanted to know what was wrong with her. Could it be that feeling like he went through when he was first changed? The loney, scared and confused feeling. Unlike Sara, he didn't have a mentor to look up to. Still being young himself he didn't feel like he should be looked up to. Sara's eyes still went down to the ground every so often. She was near him, and that was good. But, still, she felt like she had let him down. She had gotten herself hurt and had distracted him from killing those mortals. Why would Josh want to keep her around now that she was no good to him? He kept walking, looking ahead of himself. "You know you're going to have to fess up on why you're acting so weird? What happened back there?" She looked up at him, a little confused. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to get in the way. All I wanted to do was help you. I don't know what happened." "Is that all you're worried about?" He laughed and stopped walking and turned to face her. "Do you know how many times I've went up against them and lost?" She looked down again and shook her head slightly. "Well, lets see." He thought for a mintue. "The first time at the dock, second at the Brits apartment, then at The Pier, then at Oz's, then a few nights ago at my apartmet. That's how I ended up in that cage. Don't feel bad about tonight, it wasn't your fault." He walked up to her and put his hand on her shoulder. "Shit happens, just be glad you didn't get your eye jabbed out or shot in the face with a shotgun." She nodded, then looked back up at him. "But if you hadn't had to worry about me, you might have succeeded tonight. I couldn't even kill that one pathetic girl." He shrugged. "Don't worry about it, you're still new. There'll be other chances. Lets go find food, and please cheer up." She nodded again, more enthusiasticly this time. If he wanted her to cheer up, she would. She even put on a little smile. He saw her smile and smiled as well. "That's my girl, now lets find some food." He was getting weaker by the minute. "Yes, let's." She moved ahead of him and took his hand in hers, starting to lead him. She looked all around for anyone to feed on. This search for food was taking too long and he was getting to weak, way too fast. But he kept a strong appearance. Sara spotted a person and quickly left Josh's side to attack him. She dragged the struggling man back to Josh and held him out for him to feed. Josh quickly grabbed the man, sinking his fangs into his neck. Slowly he felt some of his strenght return, but it would seem he'd have to find a few more mortals before he was at top form. She stood back and watched as Josh fed. It was almost as good as feeding herself. The bad events that had taken place earlier that night seemed to wash away as she watched the man die. This was how it was supposed to be. The body of the man quickly dried up and Josh dropped his body licking his lips. The man's blood fueled Josh to look for more food and he was soon off again. He was sure to stay away from Oz's for a while. If he went near there he would end up in that cage again. He craved the rare stones again, but knew that, that trust wasn't there any longer and his collecting days had come to a hault. She smiled at him as he dropped the body. "Feel better?" She knew he would probably need more food and looked around for any other unlucky persons who were around. "A little, thank you." He said as he looked around. He loved the power the blood stone gave him but the feeding was becoming a chore. "Good," she said. She spotted another person down the street and pointed them out to Josh. "Care for some more?" Not wasting any time he was on the person before they knew what was happening. Sinking his fangs into their neck, starting to feed. --- Joshua "Sensai" Maclachlan Sara "Padawan" Fielding |
