BACKGROUND: Kyla was born in Alexandria, Egypt to
a pair of wealthy Scottish collectors who traveled
the world in search of the ultimate artifacts from
the distant past. Because they were always on the
move, she had little opportunity to establish any
grounded social contacts and was, instead, inspired
to fill the emptiness of her youth with reading
materials pertaining to every area of the
archaeological fields her parents sought. Due to her
mother's overwhelming fascination with Egyptology,
Kyla was soon so hooked that she applied to Oxford
University and was not only accepted because of her
excellent grades, but also because of the family's
powerful financial reputation.
Upon graduation, she detoured from graduate
school and went for the ownership of an occult
bookstore in Hollywood, where she incorporated herself
into the occult community and connected with the
underside of the pagan lifestyle. This was where she
first developed the taste for blood, after
participating in a ritual with a few patrons of her
store and discovering the underlying eroticism.
However, once the store had become profitable enough
for her to move on, she left town and set up shop in
San Francisco.
Hoping to begin franchising herself and spreading
her seeds of dark magical interest to others, she
then moved on to St. Petersburg, Florida. There, she
found the allur of the nightlife so desirable that
staying around for a while might strengthen her
occult contacts tenfold.
