| These are my thoughts on the main characters of Gundam Wing. |
| Heero Yuy When i first started watching Gundam Wing, it was in the middle of the series & i was really, really lost. But i kept watching b/c i wanted to know more about Heero. It was the part in the series where Heero and Quatre are in the Sank Kingdom, so I hadn't really been introduced to any of the other pilots. He seemed mysterious, i guess. And i wanted to know what was up w/ him & Relena as well. I think Heero is a pretty interesting character. He always has a plan & he always knows exactly what he's doing. I like the way he changes through out the series too. At the beginning he is very careless with his life & doesn't care whether he lives or dies. He even attempts suicide a few times. But by the end he wants to live & I love his quote: "I will survive!!!!!!" Duo Maxwell If Heero got me interested in Gundam Wing, Duo got me addicted to it. Duo Maxwell is my favorite character, by far. From the first time i heard him talk he became my favorite. I love his happy-go-lucky & optimistic attitude. He provides the comic relief to an otherwise very serious show. But, there's another side to Duo, which I love just as much. When he's in battle, he truly becomes the Great Destroyer (Sorry, i prefer that nickname over "god of death." Itz the only thing from the edited version that I like). He is so dedicated & will do anything to get the job done. All in all, i just love to swoon over Duo. He is the best pilot and the best character in the show. Trowa Barton At first, Trowa was my least favorite character b/c I thought he was really boring. But the more times I saw the series, the more I liked him. He is now my second favorite character. Trowa is always calm and collected and knows how to control his emotions almost better than Heero does. We do get to see his emotions come through a few times though and those are my favorite Trowa moments. Like when he blows up Deathscythe & he has tears. Or when he goes on his suicude mission & Catherine is able to stop him. Also, ya gotta admire a guy who can jump in the air, do 3 360 degree spins & land on his feet. Besides that, he plays the flute (so do I!!) so ya know he's cool. Quatre Raberba Winner At first i didnt like Quatre b/c he seemed very sissy & girly (i guess thats what happens when you have 29 older sisters). But the more i watched the show, the more i liked him. He matures a lot through out the series. This is proven at the end of ther series when Heero makes him the leader & he over comes the Zero System & leads the pilots to victory. I also admire his sensitiveness b/c i imagine that's a hard thing to have when you're a soldier. He can empathize with people. Quatre is the most caring Gundam pilot & it's good to know that the other pliots have someone to watch out for them. Wufei Chang Like Trowa & Quatre, i didn't like Wufei at first mainly b/c of his comments about women being weak. ("I don't fight bleeding hearts or women." I hate the way he says the word "women".) But after i got to know Wufei's character better I liked him more. I think he is the most misunderstood character in GW. Wufei is a very confused person. He struggles with what justice and integriity really mean & i think he struggles with his feelings too. But he straigtens everything out eventually and he is very smart and usually sees why a mission or something might fail before the other pilots do. All Wufei needs is to be understood by GW fans. Relena Peacecraft/Darlian Relena is a psychotic stalker. She stalkes Heero & obsesses over him without even really knowing him! All she knew was that he wanted to kill her. And when she does find out more about him, it doesnt make her obsession any less! He has threatened her life so many times that I've lost count but she still stalks him. Anyone who would yell, "Heero! I'm right here! Come & kill me!" is a psycho. Also, later in the series she gets even more annoying b/c in every scene she's in she's like "The only way to achieve peace is through pacifism." over & over & over...I tried to find something good about Relena but i honestly couldnt think of anything. Zechs Merquise I like Zechs. Even thought he's the Gundam pilots' enemy most of the time (except in EW) I still think he's cool. I dont really know what it is about him, but he is just a very interesting person. He's also very confused, always switching back & forth between Zechs & Miliardo & going a little bit insane at the end when he was trying to blow up the Earth. But, like Wufei, he straightens it all out eventually. Lucrezia Noin Noin is definetly the best female character on Gundam Wing. She's smart, a good soldier & she's loyal. Her dedication to Zechs is really amazing. She even refuses to fight him at the end when he is the enemy & she knows he is wrong. She just wants to stay by his side. I love the scene where he comes to Lake Victoria & she just sits there on the stool, tapping her sword, with the happiest look on her face. Noin rocks!! Treize Khushrenada I honeslty don't have an opinion on Treize. I dont like him or dislike him. The only reason he's here is b/c he's a main character. Lady Une For most of the series i dont like Lady Une. Her split personalities are just plain freaky. And her mean personality just makes me not like her at all. But right before she gets shot, she has a change of heart and realizes the pilots are in the right. After that, I like Lady Une a lot better. |
