ENMITY

METAL SIDE: Let's start this interview in a very traditional way, so talking  about Enmity's history. When was your band formed? Why did you decide to

Play  such brutal music?

ENMITY: The band was formed in 1995./ We believe that death metal is all about extreme brutality, and is the sole reason for it's existence. Therefore the sicker the better.

METAL SIDE: Enmity is not very well known in the underground yet, that's why many of our readers didn't hear your music yet. Tell them please what they

can expect buying your releases. What kind of death metal do you play?

ENMITY: Extreme, brutal, hard hitting, modern death metal with a slight technical edge.

METAL SIDE: What are your favorite albums, materials which were most important for you as a musician, being a significant source of inspiration to write your own music?

ENMITY: All albums from: Suffocation, Baphomet, Deeds of Flesh, Disgorge U.S.A., Devourment, etc...

METAL SIDE: How do you write your music? Do all Enmity's members participate in the song-writing?

ENMITY: The initial song writing is done by Chad (Guitar), and Rob (Drums). The rest of the song is filled in after the main body is completed.

METAL SIDE: Not a long time ago you signed a deal to release debut full-length. Tell us something about your label as well as the forthcoming album. Are there  big differences between self-released MCD and this new CD?

ENMITY: We recently signed a deal with Amputated Vein Records. They're an extreme metal label out of Japan, that takes great care of it's bands./ The main difference between the new CD and Emotionless is sound quality. Since we had twice the budget to work with, the new CD has a much better sound. The music is right along the lines of our Emotionless demo.

METAL SIDE: Aren't you afraid that the label from Japan won't be so effective in promoting your album in the United States as could be the label from your

 country?

ENMITY: No, we believe that underground distribution is nowhere close to where it should be here in the states. A.V.R. seems to be very motivated about it's promotion. More motivated than some of the of labels we had offers from here in the states.

METAL SIDE: How do you want to promote the new release?

ENMITY: Anyway possible. If we can get extreme death metal fans to sample one or two of our songs. We think our CD will catch on in the underground.

METAL SIDE: You come from Arizona. This state is not famous of death metal scene, like for example Florida. What is your opinion about the condition of the scene in Arizona? Do you think that it would be easier for you to promote your band if you live closer to main centers of brutal music?

ENMITY: The scene in Arizona is not very strong at the moment, but is getting stronger. We'd like to stay in AZ and tour to promote the band rather than move. Of course it would be easier to promote ourselves in a more popular scene, but we'd like to stick around and see what we can do to help the scene here.

METAL SIDE: Could you recommend us other talented brutal bands from Arizona as well as other parts of the country?

ENMITY: Genocaust from Tucson, AZ. Vehemence and Hate Work out of Phoenix AZ.

METAL SIDE: My favorite death metal band from Arizona was Psychic Pawn. I have their E.P. and debut album, released in the mid 90thies. They were great

in my opinion, but unfortunately disappeared very quickly? Do you know their music? Perhaps you know what happened with them?

ENMITY: No never heard of them.

METAL SIDE: Has 'underground' a special meaning for you? Do you feel that you are a part of death metal community, people who like brutal music and try

To support it no matter what they do and where they live?

ENMITY: The underground is very special to us. We've put a tremendous amount of support and effort into it. We would like to be a bigger part of it and help to strengthen it./ Yes, there are a lot of kick ass bands that come from other countries. We've received a lot of support from fans in other countries other than the states. Extreme music is definitely a world interest.

METAL SIDE: What are the topics of Enmity's lyrics?

ENMITY: Christ bashing gore!!!

METAL SIDE: What do you do when you don't practice, play gigs or write and record your music? Is your everyday life so brutal as your music?

ENMITY: Of course, we beat up on defenseless animals.

METAL SIDE: Thanks for the answers.

ENMITY: Thanks Damian!
