DEATH IN JUNE   1987
Brown Book

1. Heilige Tod

Instrumental

2. Touch Defiles

But, we Desecrate at a touch!
And, Touch Defiles
Afloat on the evening tide
Its light and its sadness
Growing fainter and fainter
Growing fainter and fainter

This War of Emotion
The Fate of our Age
It rains slashed and sweaty
To the brow of our Death
Cut off from the World
By our own Despair
Burning with Desire
The True Deceit

With Dedication
With Will
So purged of Purity
Perished in the Night
Where every Dream
With every Hope
In someone else
Has been betrayed

The Passion
The Devotion
The Knowing
The Nothing
The Echoes
The Names
The Sadness
The Blame.

3. Hail! The White Grain
PARTIALLY ADAPTED FROM AN OLD SAXON POEM

Fear is a Token
And, in this Darkness
It never rests
My body is Barren
A horse for a Hero
The Sun fails to Burn
Hail! The White Grain
This Life, This Pain

His ship never Sails
And my Nights never End
His heart never Falls
But, my Tears never Bleed
His lips never lie
My eyes never Pray
His Faith never falters
My doubt never stays
His Love never Slaughters
My tongue never needs
My Hope and its Angels
Our Death and our Deeds
My Hope and its Angels
Our Death and Our Deeds.........

4. Runes and Men

With your hair of Flaming Roses
Your Kiss - Medusa's Touch
Turn me to a pillar of salt
To Die now would be Perfection

Then my loneliness closes in
So, I drink a German wine
And drift in Dreams of other lives
And Greater Times

White sheets wrap my mind
In drunken thoughts of Runes and Men
Why does the Devil leave for us
This legacy of Loneliness

This Cry for the Moon
And a Daggers thrust
With your hair of Flaming Blooms
And your eyes of Saintly Dusk

Then my loneliness closes in
So, I drink a German wine
And drift in Dreams of other Lives
And Greater Times.......

5. To Drown a Rose
"32 CREASES" IS A REFERENCE TO HOMOSEXUALITY

Hide from the Sun
Life, an icy tear
Rivers of Blood
Serenade my lungs

Will he hold my soul
Will he tear my Heart
Will he Will he
Will he rip me apart? Decay of Belief
And the highest doubts
We spill our Blood
Too late to shout

How we burn
Why keep scum from knowing?
32 creases
Shot in the dark
A Flame across the sea
Were going down in History

To drown a Rose
To share a Dream
This sickness of Death
In your eyes in your schemes

Like a crystal tear
I wait to betray
The lie across the sea
My Hate is Love to me A shot in the dark
Perfumed and sweaty
Why do we mourn
Neutered and muddy?

6. Red Dog - Black Dog
DESCRITPION OF A DOUGLAS P. DREAM

A young man. He has returned to his place of birth and stands starting at the house wrapped in the dark of night. A voice shouts his name! His mother has seen him loitering in the darkness. She stares down from an upstairs window. Quickly, the figure of a woman leaves the home. She possesses no features. It is understood that she is a friend of his mother.

The woman walks up the street towards the bust stop and he and his mother decide to accompany her.

The man asks her what time it is and she reveals her watch-showing it is midnight. He notices that the sky at the top of the road is already showing the grey of dawn. It is already getting light.

The man and his mother return to the house where his finds his young sister waiting. The women have been devining-fortelling the future. He sees that for their devination they have used a square wooden block, marked out with nails or pegs. He cannot quiet see but he thinks they ar 3 down and 3 across. A piece of red cotton is tied between the nails. The position determines the outcome. He asks the women if they could also do it for him. They are very hesitant. But, give in to just one question- one that isnt asked! This is done and vehemently they will continue no further.

He stares at the board and the string runs diagonally from left to right. He looks again-the red string runs diagonally from right to left. His sister speaks; You must be careful!
There is a Red Dog.
And, there is a Black Dog.

7. The Fog of the World

Id like to be one
Who makes Mothers cry
Id like to be the one
Who makes Mothers weep

And wander in the Dawns and Dew
And wander in the Dawns and Dew
And in the lanes and lawns
And in the lanes and lawns

His muscular build
His brown hair cropped close
Brave me and tame me
Brave me and tame me

Here in the Fog of the World
Here in the Fog of the World
But, what can be Born?
But, what can be Born?
But, what can be Born.........

8. We are the Lust
with John Balance

Hold a knife, blooded
To the throat of Love
Hold the knife blooded
To the throat of Love
Hold a Bloodied knife
To the throat of Love

We are The Lust
That comes from Nothing

We are the Lust
As they turn to Dust
As they ground to Dust
A crown of tears
We are The Lust

We are The Lust
That comes from Nothing.

9. Punishment Initiation

One is The Axis
Anonymous in Glory
Love is now Empty
And Incomplete

Strike at the Heart of Hope
Where Panic Stirs The Will
We hear Dogs Blessing
This sleepless nights Torture
We Pray for its Ending
We Push for the Slaughter
Of a Broken Faith missing
Of a passing Love Dying
We start afresh
For Love and for Death

One is the Axis
Anonymous in Glory
Low is now Empty
Forever, Incomplete
