In other news, we've found someone to record our demo. Kodie, drummer of Grave Corps, has agreed to record the first Dying Lies demo for only $35/song. The demo will feature between 3 and 7 all-original Dying Lies songs. We plan to record and release said demo in October. We plan to play a Halloween show this year; we'll probably be selling and/or giving away our demo during that show. We also plan to play the Fayette Watermelon Jam on the 23rd or 24th of August. Hope to see everybody at both of these shows. Keep on rockin' -GibbZ

June 19, 2007 GibbZ and Tim are back from Germany, and we just had our first real band practice since. We finished writing the structures to 2 more original songs along with everything except vocals. Colt's no longer with the band for reasons not to be discussed, so we're looking for a new vocalist, contact us if you are interested. We're actually looking to audition 2 tomorrow (one chick, one dude); should be interesting. Once everything falls back together, we should have some interesting shit written; covers are no longer our focus. Also, our manager is looking to get details on throwing a show out at Klock's Island. Not sure if it's going to happen, but we'll probably get a couple bands to come down to play, also.

May 23, 2007 Well it's that time of year again...which means GibbZ is in Germany. Tim went with this time, too, so practice/shows are at kind of a halt for the time being. They should be back in around 3 weeks, and we plan to play at a party then, possibly with a band from Kansas. Well we played the NICC gig (see pic from a newspaper below), and although we were late to play, the show still turned out pretty good. Kind of weird playing in front of your principal and super intendent, though. Also, not that we're really "big" enough to need one, we'd like to acknowledge Eric Parsley as Dying Lies' new, full-time manager.

May 12, 2007 Been a while since the last update. For a while there we weren't able to do too much, but since then we've been practicing more, got some more tunes down, got a new bassist, and played a couple gigs. Chris and Tim started writing an original song and finished it within the second day of starting it; we have yet to add lyrics and vocal melodies, but when we get some freetime we'll work on that along with other new songs. We played a 4/20 show that ended up getting busted...go figure...then we played a show at our lead singers place last friday, a "Cinco de Mayo" party if u wanna call it that. Chris, Tim, and Mason even performed at the school's variety show a couple months ago (see pics below). As for upcoming shows, this Wednesday we're playing at NICC's college campus for Colt's graduation. We're only playing for a half hour, but it should be fun. Also, this Saturday we might be playing again at a party. Contact us for more info...PEACE.

January 10, 2007 GibbZ here. Dylan left the band, Colter is now our full-time lead singer. Colter's singing is truly awesome and I think it will give our music a melodic edge. Once again, we've started writing original material and Colter's use of melodic vocals and harmonized screams (I provide the lower scream) should open up new creative avenues for us. Dylan's reasons for leaving the band are his own, and we respect his right to make that decision. Let's just say he didn't agree with Colter replacing him for the holiday gigs. His manager then relayed the news that he had left the band to pursue a collaboration with Cody, the drummer of punk band DUI. Says Dylan's agent, "[Dying Lies] experimented with something better, and bands should never do that." Dying Lies harbors no hard feelings toward Dylan and does not want to reduce music to a petty contest between a group of embittered assholes. The Dying Lies name is owned by Chris Levine and GibbZ, the original and founding members of the band. Thus, they maintain ownership of all music, lyrics, logos, slogans, graphics, and other intellectual property that Dylan Stewart contributed and are for all intents and purposes the legal author of the creative works in question.

January 7, 2007 Chris here. It's 2:44 in the morning and I decided to update. Due to some fucked up shit, Dylan has left the band, and Colter Kirby has replaced him as lead singer. This still leaves us without a bassist, however. Contact us if interested. We played at a New Year's party as well, which went pretty well. We actually met someone that offered another party gig for when it warms up and maybe even a wedding. We'll keep you posted on more information on these gigs.

December 28, 2006 Chris and GibbZ here. On the 23rd we played at a Christmas party. It was really cool and a lot of fun; thanks to everybody that came out. It was a pretty crazy setting; we played in a basement with some crazy ass lights and shit. We're practicing for a New Year's Eve party, too. It will be held at the same place. Anyone who wants to come is welcome, contact us for directions if you don't know where it is. Colter Kirby sang lead vocals for the Christmas party and will be for the New Years party as well. His permanent role in the band is undecided as of now, however. Whatever happens, the party should be kick ass. We're out, peace.

November 1, 2006 GibbZ here with my two cents on the Halloween Party. It was a really killer party, like Chris said. We had a lot of fun and gained some valuable experience as a band. I want to thank everybody that came out to support us, especially those who had crazy-cool costumes. A special thanks to those responsible for the three dollars and the handful of change in the tip jar. Now that we're decent enough for shows, we plan to play at more of Summer's parties for things like New Year's, Spring Equinox (?), and random weekend keggers. We also plan to do our high school variety show and a big concert at a renovated barn out in the boonies. These plans are all very vague, check back for more updates on future gigs.

October 29, 2006 Chris here. Just woke up...last night was the Halloween Party, it turned out real cool despite a couple of "technical difficulties". Deadly Influence backed out, but 2 of them showed up to the party. We went on around 10:30 with a set consisting of the better rehearsed portion of our cover songs. We even played a short Slayer medley for the diehard metal heads, which of course incited a pit, along with Unholy Confessions of course. D.U.I. was really cool about the party and seemed to enjoy us as an opening band; especially our Murderdolls cover. D.U.I. took the stage after a few hours and jammed out until around 2 a.m.; most people left afterwards. We stayed around with the other band for about an hour, getting free shit and such. All in all, it was real fun and we look forward to our next gig. With the halloween gig out of our way, we're looking at writing some original material, possibly having a tune or two for our next gig. Check the Bio page for pics.
