• Men have been more likely to avoid going through grief    

• They remain silent and keep to themselves.      

• They appear not to need to communicate their grief     

• They are engaged in a secret grief or solitary mourning activities       

• Try to immediately bring control to an "out of control" situation         

• Most become obsessive about activity...throwing himself into his work, hobby or other activity        

• He is angry with God, finding little comfort in his faith    

• He wants to avoid showing pain in front of others      

• He wants his life back to the way it was before

• Women use their intuition more and are generally more empathic than men

• Women need to explore their feelings and have them recognized as legitimate to others
