Frozen Solid

I’m frozen

My emotions have run dry

It’s not a choice I made

More like my alibi

Commanders cannot grieve

Over the innocent who die

We do only what we have to

There’s no time for asking ‘Why?’

We convince ourselves we’re right

We feed ourselves a lie

Because armies can’t have soldiers

Breaking down to cry

Over fallen comrades

When it’s time to say goodbye

AUTHOR'S NOTES: Yes, another poem. I don’t think this one is nearly as good as my other one, but I hope you liked it nonetheless. Anyway, the poem is pretty self explanatory.
