| As school proceeds, as does its grueling intensity. We are more academically challenged, at this point of our existence than, perhaps, we have ever been in our lives. That little process should proceed all the way through are junior year, and then, heaven willing, through college. The challenges are brought before us with tests, homework, and most of all, independent projects. Oneof these such projects was a History Research Paper (which I am still working on). This research paper I am currently working on is the biggest paper of its sort that I've ever had the fortune to receive. It will end up being a number of pages long and with my history teacher's standards, also be full of facts and data. Thus far I've only completed the actual research, but only this far into it and I've already learned so much. I've learned how to take competent, quality notes- and a lot of them. Also, how to recognize a viable source, and extract the most possible valid information from it. In addition, I had to complete a survey and an interview for the project. I did my project on health in America - a topic I am genuinely interested in. So this demonstrates my self-directed learning because of the massive amount of notes needed to succeed, and the learning which occurred in the meantime. |
