A Master's Farewell Reflection
Truely, there are no writers in history who rival the great Shakespeare. He composed hundreds of plays, poems, and other works of literature which have survived the test of time ten-fold! A year ago, I took a trip to Stratford-on-Avon, the home of Shakespeare, and really became interested in this legendary man. So when the time came to do this research paper, I knew exactly who my piece would be on. We had to do it more specifically, so I chose The Tempest, one of his final pieces. I discovered that this play was actually a secret farewell to his life of theater and writing. He portrays himself as prospero, the wizard of a magical island and he manipulates the people, who represent the people who have been entralled with his plays for years. In the end, he shows mercy to all the underlings, and gives a great speech of farewell.
