This may have been one of the most challenging English essay all year, because it's not just something one can mindlessly type up, simply regurgitating information here and there. This issue takes some real thinking to it, as that it's an extremely emotional issue. It crosses moral boundaries, and even has ties to religion. It's an issue that is discussed everywhere, from the classroom, to on the news. It's also an issue that could allow a person to do some soul searching, depending on their point of view. I had to decipher how I really felt on the issue, and do some research to support my topic. On this essay I cited correctly, provided powerful CM's and CD's, and organized the paper well overall. The view on the topic I choose was mainly based on the research I did, I'm not certain that it is my true view on the subject. Research tends to be very biased when dealing with moral or emotional issues like this. However, if I could change something about this essay, I'd change my opinion, perhaps to more of one of a realistic, rather than a humanitarian point of view. Indeed, while the forests are extremely important, so is the wood we get from them. Never the less, we still must find means to conserve more territory before much of the forests are wiped out completely. I learned that there is a serious problem with deforestation that needs to be dealt with in the coming years if humans are to thrive on this world in the years to come. |
