This was probably one of the most enjoyable pieces I had the privledge of writing this year. This was a Biographical Narrative, or a piece which discribes a certain event or instance involving someone else I knew. For the person, I chose my favorite and only cousin. As for the event, though I had to think hard. In the end, though, I chose a time many years back, when I was quite young. I went out to visit Daniel, as my family does three or so times a year. Daniel, my elder by four years, and I went our to this area where we always drive golf balls and we began to do just that. I was never very good, but this time was different- he pointed out a telephoine pole in the distance and dared me to hit it. I told him I could not, but tried anyway, and a few seconds later- CRACK. The white ball smashed into the pole, and we both just stared in awe. It turned out to be more than just a lucky shot, however, in that from that point on my cousin and I really got on along better than before. In this piece I found it difficult to capture all the emotions I was feeling and the thoughts buzzing through my mind, but I think I did a good job at it and my grade reflected my assumption. |
