Aches and Pains: Its not the years, its the mileage

As the summer season heats up we challenge our bodies to get back into a full swing of activities. While we look forward to reclaiming our active outdoor lifestyle, concerns of sore shoulders, knees, ankles, etc. make us gun-shy. Staying active is a vital part of a healthy lifestyle, but it can also be a double-edged sword, gradually wearing away the protective, cushioning cartilage in your joints. The result is inflamed joints ranging in soreness from mild discomfort to debilitating pain.

Glucosamine sulfate to the rescue!
Glucosamine is a vital building block needed by the body to build cartilage and is shown in many recent studies to alleviate the symptoms of joint discomfort and pain. It comes in several forms: glucosamine sulfate (GS), glucosamine hydrochloride and N-acetyl-glucosamine (NAG), but be forewarned, not all glucosamine is created equal. GS is the only form consistently shown in clinical trials to be effective for people with joint pain.

Okay, now that Ive had my chemistry lesson, how do I get rid of this pain?
Youre in luck! Ideal Health has developed FlexCaps, a product that provides a replenishing source of GS as well as other vital nutrients that are found naturally in joint tissue. FlexCaps also contains the important natural sulfur compound, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), which researchers have found contribute to healthy joint function. Helping to decrease the painful cartilage-damaging effects of inflammation Bromelain (from pineapple), and the herbs Curcuma longa and Boswellia serrata have been added to FlexCaps for their anti-inflammatory properties.

Ive seen other joint support products that contain Chondroitin. What is it and why isnt it in FlexCaps?
Chondroitin is nothing more than a very long chain of glucosamine molecules connected by a little sulfur and glucose.  It is too big to be absorbed intact so the body breaks it into glucosamine, sulfur, and glucose before it is absorbed. Additionally, there is no evidence to support the theory that glucosamine and chondroitin work synergistically in the treatment of joint support. Furthermore, be aware that more than one-third of chondroitin supplements have been reported to contain less than 40% of the amount listed on the label.

Ideal Health provides individuals with customized solutions to their health and nutritional challenges through a full-line of U.S.P. grade nutritional support and supplement products.
