Near Oakcreek Canyon.

Sedona, is near the middle of the state. The red rocks and cool weather bring tourists year-round.

Arizona is home to many
kinds of fish and wildlife,
including elk, deer, bear,
bison, wolf, trout, bass,
coyote, antelope, javalina,
fox, hare, eagle, falcon,
owl, cactus wren, quail,
roadrunner, and reptiles,
such as rattlesnakes,
gila monsters, horny toads,
desert tortoise, and more...

My family came to Arizona from York, Pennsylvannia, in 1907.
(Arizona became a state in 1914.)
The past four generations of my family have
all been born in the same hospital in Phoenix.
I have lived in Arizona all of my life and have
deep family & emotional roots there.

Phoenix is part of the Sonoran desert, found in the southwest
USA and northern Mexico and is famous for it's Saquaro cactus.
Phoenix is also called, "The Valley of the Sun"
because of little rain and simmering hot summers.
(Sunblock is always advised strongly)

I still have family in Pennsylvania,
(As well as in New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia).
I recently had a chance to visit these East Coast States.
They were not at all like what I had expected in my mind.
BUT, better! It proved to be an exceptional visit for me.

I have also lived in Northern Arizona.
I really love the variety and diversity of
the terrain and wildlife that is found there.
Arizona is so unique and beautiful!

Northern Arizona is a high elevation climate,
and offers seasonal weather including snow!
Very opposite from the dry, warm desert winters in Phoenix.

Maybe one day someone will convince me that Arizona
isn't the most beautiful place on Earth....
naw, I just don't think anyone could!

Phoenix is a very large
city. Downtown has
many skyscrapers and
business opportunities.
Also overpopulation
and drought as well as
innercity traffic and
intense summer heat.
