| 06.10.01 What a turnout !!! 28 club members for the trip to Hexthorpe. Wegotthereeventually at about 8pm to find the place already well full , after saying hello's to nearly everybody in the placewe settled near the frontflag in position and ready to party . Glynn from A1 was well into his first spot on thedecks playing somemod and ska , he was then followed by john who entertained us with some northern and motown tunes . Then came the time for the trophies , Furthest travelled club the lads and lasses from Ronnie Biggs sc in Norfolk ( very brave as well they were camping in Hexthorpe ) . Furthest travelled solo was Kev from Scarbobough . Best turned out club next what a result Dearne Valley S C(if we carry on like this we'll need a new cabinet ) . Then onto the raffle with various prizes from scooter stuff to tee shirts (we won one of them aswell ) to beer (surprise surprise ) . Great to hear the night raised loads of money for Weston Park Hospital . Back to the music with Glynn and John taking us right through till 12.30 with some top tunes which really had the dance floor bouncing big time (we'll apart from the Proclaimers track anyway ) . In my opinion 12.30 came all too early and it was time to leave what had been a superb night , congratulations to Alan , Glynn and all the A1 gang for a really good night (and a trophy too ) . Our own little competition for most out of his face went big time to Gez (oh boy was your'e wife impressed with you ( NOT ) when i got you home) . ps. have you washed the sick off your hand !!! cheers for not throwing up in my car mate . |
