A. Premature ejaculation is the most common of the male sexual dysfunctions and occurs in up to 33% of men. There are a variey of definitions for premature ejaculation, but basically, it is the loss of voluntary control of the reflex to ejaculate. Practically speaking, it is defined as ejaculation that occurs in less than 2 minutes or on less than 10 thrusts.
Sexual dysfunction can be the result of a variety of factors, few medical, most psychological. The biggest culprit in causing premature ejaculation seems to be performance anxiety, or just plain being nervous about your ability to perform and please your partner. This may be related to current relationship problems, poor communication with your partner, fears of intimacy, fear of disease (like fear of death after a heart attack), or stresses in your life in general.
