Unparalleled beauty in the Smokey Mountains! The Benedict Castle

Welcome to
The Benedict Castle!

Of course, the "crown jewel" of the estate is the stunning "Benedict Castle", the official residence of Benedict himself. Listed in the National Register of Historical Places, this castle is a marvel of architectural engineering and has been the inspiration for at least one (now more famous) European look-alike.

The interior architectural design of the castle is stunning throughout its hallways and many rooms. High, curving archways adorned by chandeliers create a sense of majesty found in few residences. Stained-glass windows abound and provide an etherial aura to the several grand ballrooms, especially during sunset and sunrise. Oil-on-canvas paintings by noted artists span the centuries, and provide a museum-like quality to the rooms in which they are placed.

Plush tapestries and priceless antiques add warmth to each room.

Plush tapestries hang gracefully, accenting the many spectacular views from the castle's windows. Priceless antiques insure that each room has its own unique personality and provide a richness and warmth to unparralled.

Is this the legendary Brigadoon?

The castle itself, however, is rarely seen, even by visitors to the estate due to its unique microclimate which causes it to be hidden most of the year by surrounding, low-lying clouds. This aspect of it has even caused some to believe it to be the legendary "Brigadoon".
