Welcome to Benedict's Estate!
This fine 72,000-acre estate is situated in the beautiful Smokey Mountains region of North Carolina. This area of the country features plush forests, magnificent overlooks, serene lakes fed by streams dotted with stunning waterfalls, and a wide variety of indiginous wildlife.
This beauty continues throughout the seasons. The plush greens of summer give way to the firey splendor of autumn foliage. The glistening whites of the winter's snow and ice soon provide a tranqility to the estate that's broken only by the overfed streams and colorful flowers that let us know that spring has arrived.
While the entire estate is privately-held by The Benedict Trust, this trust has graciously provided access to the public and currently maintains over 55 miles of nature trails that highlight many of the outstanding features of the estate. Additionally, several small (full-facilitied) campsites are provided, also for public use.
Recently, The Benedict Trust has conducted negotiations with the federal government regarding the possibility of the estate becoming a national forest. Given the current administration's environmental record however, Benedict feels that a transfer of title at this time would be far too risky, and these negotiations have thus been suspended.
