S-Set Photos "The Suburban Set"

The S Set is the Backbone of Sydney's Electric Train Fleet. The Carriages were built by Comeng Between (1972-1980) and Goninan (1978-1980). S-Sets are operated by Mortdale, Flemington and Hornsby Depots. Aswell as S-Set's there are also 6 Car counterparts, called R sets. And also 2 car sets called L sets. The 2 car L sets are ran on Wollongong Local services and the Olympic Park sprint. The oldest car's in the fleet, Tullochs can usually be found attached to S sets.

Recently Mortdale have got rid of all their R sets and made them into S Sets, because of the unavailiability of Target plates below 100, Mortdale has started Targetting them in the 100 series.
