"Millenium Train"

The Millennium train, with enhanced comfort and safety, is the newest addition to CityRail's electric fleet. Its first passenger service travelled from Olympic Park to Central station on Sunday, 30 June 2002 and its first revenue service departed Campbelltown at 8.40am on Monday, 1 July 2002.

The Millennium train with its sleek lines and modern styling is the fourth generation of electric trains purpose built for the New South Wales rail network.

The initial 80 carriages will replace some older carriages on the network and provide additional capacity to cater for the continued strong patronage growth on the CityRail system.

Numerous 'teething' problems have been encountered with the Millenium Train, resulting in alot of Failures and other major problems. A full list of these problems is outlined on the City Rail website. http://www.cityrail.info/aboutus/m_train/index.jsp

Hey Mate it's M8 :P. Car D1015 standing at Olympic Park on a Historic Electric Traction Train tour.

D1015 at Olympic Park Station. At the time of this photo the newest M set was M17.

D1011 leads seat M6 coupled to M2 on approach to Sutherland Station with a Service to Bondi Junction. Note the incorrect desto is shown. This photo was taken the day after the Waterfall Train Disaster, due to this happening Platform 1 at Sutherland was only used for Intercity Services (which terminated at Waterfall), that is why this train is arriving on Platform 2.

The interior of a Millenium Train Motor Car, this being D1003 in set M2.

The Bright roomy Vestibule is shown here again in car D1003.

These LED Signs show the station the train is arriving at and stopping pattern. Currently this train is arriving into Jannali Station as show on the Display board. A Computerised voice also plays to announce the station.
