Bio of Vergie Hardy Freeman

Vergie Hardy Freeman is a native of Virginia. 
She is a graduate of Virginia State University with a B.S. Degree in 
Accounting. Married with two children she has been living in the state 
of Texas for nineteen years.
 
For the past seven years she has been conducting genealogical research. 
Every year she travels to Virginia to research her ancestors. 
Courthouses, libraries, cemeteries and funeral homes have
become her constant "companions." 

Vergie is a member of the African American Genealogy Interest Group 
(AAGIG) of the Dallas Genealogical Society (DGS) and holds the position 
of Acting Treasurer of AAGIG. She is also a member of DGS and serves 
as the AAGIG Liaison for DGS. She served on the 1998-1999 DGS Board 
as Vice President of Membership.
