BIOGRAPHY

DeAnn Gay (Semler) Rossetti was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa on December 12, 1960. Her first creative endeavor at age 2 involved a purple crayon and a newly-painted pink wall. Having learned to read at age 4, she soon became a voracious reader and spent much of her childhood in libraries. DeAnn also began writing a journal at age 12 and hasn't ceased in the ensuing years. Her love of theater won her many awards during high school, when she also took training to become a certified nursing assistant at age 16 and graduated from Des Moines Area Community College at the top of her class.

After graduating with degrees from Clarke College and Lesley College, DeAnn worked as a proof-reader, lifestyle magazine editor and a freelance writer. She was the lifestyle and business reporter at The Mercer Island Reporter for 8 years. She has also written web content for a series of defunct women's web sites.

She currently lives with her husband Jim and son Nicholas in Maple Valley, Washington. She is passionate about books and enjoys the 365 bookstores in the Puget Sound area. She also enjoys journaling, bowling and traveling.
