HOBO COUNTRY BREAD
1 & 1/2 cups of raisins
1 cup of boiling water
1/2 cup of chopped nuts
1 egg, beaten
1/8 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 cup of sugar
3 tablespoons of shortening
2 cups of flour
Pour boiling water over the raisins and baking soda and let stand until cool.
Combine the other ingredients with the raisin mixture and bake in a greased loaf pan at 350 degrees for 60 minutes or until done.
