12/25/00:     Christmas Day

How do you like my brilliantly original title today? I'm far too tired and far too busy to worry about titles tonight. It is only a feeling of overwhelming guilt that makes me write at all right now -

I had no idea I'd be so busy this holiday. Since Joel is home for winter break I am spending a lot of time with him and his family so I am not here to update as much as I would like. After January 15 you can expect a lot more frequent updates!

Having said that - I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and/or other holiday this week. Every year I bitch and moan that I HATE christmas and every year I have a pretty good time on Christmas day. I suppose it is the preparing for Christmas that gets to me? I don't much care for christmas trees and decorations or SNOW . . . but I love buying presents for people and watching them open it! I'm a big gift - giver.

This year the best present I gave was to Joel's brother Scott (I drew his name in the family gift exchange). I made him an office paper waste basket with pictures of himself and his wife and children on it. His wife cried her eyes out - it was priceless. I really love Joel's family like they were my own and I am so happy that soon they will all be part of my own family too.

The best present I got this year was a DVD player (actually my grandfather sent me 200$ and I bought the DVD player with that money). Of course I then didn't have enough money to buy a DVD to go with it - luckily I got one for Christmas from Joel! (Se7ven - the new collectors edition).

Joel also bought me a giant poster that has the entire play of R&J for me! I love that! I also got a huge coffee table Shakespeare book and countless (and very needed) kitchen supplies like steamer baskets and mixing bowls.

After presents and good food my mother and grandmother and I hit the Casino! We all lost but oh well - 'Tis the season.

PS - don't expect too many updates until after my winter break!
