It was so cold today that they closed the St. Louis City School District where I am teaching 2 days a week. Normally I would be happy to get the day off but since today was SUPPOSED to be my last day - this means I'll have to go back at least one extra day.

Don't get me wrong. I'll miss the little 5th graders - but this school I'm working at is the pit of all dank dark pits. The teachers cuss at students and treat them horridly. The teachers often teach things that are above the students heads and the students are way behind grade level. These fifth graders can't spell "what" and they didn't know that Alaska was a state . . .

I used my day off to meet Jen for lunch. We had some yummy cheap Chineese food. I don't get to see Jen enough now that we aren't roommates anymore. I have to fix that . . .

Only 3 more days until Joel comes home for the winter break! I'll be the happiest girl in cyber-land for the next four weeks! At least I'll be able to SLEEP for a change - I always sleep better when Joel is in town - go figure . . .
