REBEKA
Rebeka is a young woman in conflict, almost entirely with herself.  As a small child she lived on a farm with her parents and toddler brother.  She was always well behaved and obedient, until her imaginations got the better of her, and she would often be caught dueling imaginary dragons or dancing with invisible faeries while the bucket of milk soured by the wayside.  She would feel bad about it and put herself into her duties earnestly for a while.  A day, perhaps even a week would pass before she was off again, racing through the fields chasing her dreams.

It was on one such jaunt at around the age of ten, that her life was forever changed.  Her mother had been ill, baby brother
finally put to bed while father travelled to a neighboring farm to borrow some tools.  Rebeka stole away to a nearby stream, a favorite secret spot of hers, and commenced to tea party with her brownie friends.  A band of nasty goblins came across her father returning home, followed him and preceeded to destroy the farmhouse, barn and animals, killing her family.

Ex-Cleric held almost captive with in the walls of the church that no longer accepts her as one of Corean's own, forced to watch her fellows continue with their gifts and blessings, a sight that is like a knife to her heart twisted deeper each passing day, and continues to send her into the darkest depths of dispair.
The smoke billowing over the horizon finally got her attention, but when Rebeka arrived there was nothing, no one, left to save.  Frightened, and feeling a world of guilt on her young shoulders, the child took off for the city, hoping to find some soldiers to find out what had happened.  Days she travelled on foot, with no food, until she collapsed in the plains, weeping for her family and wishing she were dead as well.  A Corean cleric, on his way from visiting another family in the area, found her and took her to the Chapterhouse where she was nursed and tended.

Rebeka lived there after that and joined the Coreans when she came of age.  She felt the weight of responsibility for the death of her family - if ONLY she'd been doing her chores as she was supposed to be! - and she finds great peace in serving others, helping the poor and weak, and doing what she can to make their lives better.

Still, there is a bit of the rebel in her, and every chance she gets, she will slip out of the safety of the Chapterhouse walls to explore the city.  Forever will that ember of curiosity burn deep inside, until it finds a way to reignite, and set her free once more.

Beka has been discovering lots of new things about herself.  Her desire to serve Corean stronger than ever, even after a brief time of self doubt when she actually attempted to run away from the Chapterhouse, thinking she could escape her destiny.  But she has recommited herself to her duties and puts 110% into everything she does, from sword training to shrine cleaning to prayers and spell learning.  She is determined to serve Corean and the people of the peninsula to the best of her abilities;  and if it happens to be at the side of a certain dashing young knight, then all the better!

Eager as always to help on patrols in order to return the favor to the people that the Corean cleric once gave her, she accompanies Squire Emmanuel Mannaseh and a small band to investigate rumors of hobgoblins gathering to the north.  After a fierce battle, where Sir Emmanuel was nearly lost, they vanquished the foe and Beka had gained a new respect for the gifts her god has given her, and the need for better protection.  As a result, and after hearing about her multiple injuries, her dear friends Lady Catherine Romee-Glathus and Dame Charity provided her with a banded mail which she cherishes almost as much as the scaled mail she'd been given by Endroth Galrain earlier.  She is beginning to see that hand to hand fighting may never be her forte, but at least she can provide some spiritual assistance to those who do, and she is more than glad to take her place in battle.
