| Raymie's Dreaming was more of a nightmare for her. One that dragged on for months and months as she struggled to hold onto the years of therapy and psychoanalysis that her adopted parents subjected her to from early childhood when she would innocently remark "I'm going to play with the faeries now, Mum." She spent months without sleep, for when she did finally drift off she seemed to find herself in Wonderland dodging the Queen of Hearts, arguing with the Cheshire Cat and playing leap frog with the Tweedles! Once, she rescued the poor dormouse from the MadHatter's tea party, and suddenly she had someone to talk to. The chimerical creature consoled her and helped her to open her eyes to what she was, to see herself in her true mein. She did drift back into the mainstream at this point, only to think herself totally mad as she began to see that not all the 'people' on the streets were people at all! And so she kept to herself, just making do, playing her music on the streets for coins and occasionally playing at a resort lodge where the owner seemed to be more patient with her sudden excentric behavior. After running into a few other Fae, she met up with a particularly charming Satyr, one Spry Sam by name, who took the time to explain to her that she wasn't going crazy, that there really were Trolls and Imps and Faeries lolling about the city, and that she was indeed one of them. He was very patient and has helped her regain some of her self confidence. So much so, that she joined a rock band run by Sean Devlin as drummer, and has for the most part moved in with Sam. |
