| So, with her mind made up, to make the ultimate sacrifce so as not to harm the one man she'd ever loved, she leaves the hospital and visits the Temple to say her farewells to a dear friend. During the conversation, Casius arrives and shows no emotions when she announces her plans, breaking her heart. She gets home, finding Paco gone, and begins the horrible business of deciding where to go. There is a knock at the door and she is elated beyound belief to find that Casius has come to return the chihuahua to her and she hopes that she'd been wrong. Alas, once more he walks away from her with hardly a blink of an eye* | ||||||||
| Unfortunately, Vincent did his work too well, and she found she was so deeply conditioned to his hourly feedings, that as hard as she tried, she now needed most desparately the one thing she'd wanted most to get away from... and she had no one to turn to. A few nightmarish days passed, each evening she became deathly sick in anticipation of a Kiss that would never come. Her boss from Heresy, Michael Poe, stopped over concerned about her insistance in leaving town to find her in a near frenzy. He took control of the situation and swept her and Paco off to a quiet little hidden .. bunker? where she would sit and deal with her addiction for the next six weeks. Six long and agonizes weeks.... but profitable ones. By the time she's done, she's gained complete control of the addiction, able to not only remain in the presence of known Kindred without crumbling into a sad and desparate heap of an addict, but also able to look one in the eye and tell him to "Bugger off!" She returns to her apartment with a new lease on life, eager to contact Casius and let him know that she won't be a problem for him any more.. only... when he does arrive, he announces that in her absence he'd made arrangements for her relocation to California, including a new job, a new apartment and a list of rehab centers! What was left of her heart turned to tatters! |
